Ready or Not...

We're off to Scotland to run in the half marathon. Wish us loads of luck, because we're gonna need it. We'll be doing lots of sightseeing while we're there, and I'll be sure to take a ridiculous number of pictures, which I'll share as soon as we are back. Until then, cheers!!

Treasure Hunters

Hello lovelies! How are you all? It's Thursday and almost the weekend so I cannot complain! I always look forward to the weekends.

Speaking of weekends... last weekend we met up with our friend Deaner for a day of hiking. Sarah, his wife, was in the states for her baby shower, so we thought we'd keep him company and occupied with a full day of outdoorsing! (Is that a word?)

Deaner mapped out a nice spot for us to hike, but not only that, he had his brand new metal detector out and ready for some treasure hunting. He'd been wanting to use this for a while, since Sarah had bought it for him for Christmas, and what better time to use than out in the middle of a hiking trail.

If there's anything to do with hiking or especially treasure hunting my husband is totally GUNG-HO! So we headed out for our treasure hunting adventure.

And the adventure begins...
Trail marker

The first big find... a very, very old rusted sign!

and some other unidentifiable objects...

The boys digging in anticipation for what they
hoped were Roman coins or a suit of armor.

Only to find a rusty old flattened bucket.
Dare to dream boys!! Dare to dream...

Even though we didn't find some super exciting treasure and become millionaires overnight, it was still a super fun time! I never thought metal detecting would be exciting... but it totally was. And adding in a little hiking is always fun in my book.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Hyacinth Fields

Hello lovely friends! How are you all? I hope everyone is wonderful.
It's Friday and the weekend is practically here, so I am definitely happy!! This week has been a busy work week, hence the absence from the ol' blog.

Hiking is on our agenda this weekend, along with an 8 mile run to prepare for our big run on May 23rd!! It's about two weeks away and I am getting more and more nervous. I know we're not completely prepared, but we're still going to try our best. All I care about is finishing, and OF COURSE not being the last person to cross the finish line!!

Anyway... I was looking through my little camera and forgot that I had taken some pictures of the hyacinth fields in Holland the day we were leaving. Can I just say that hyacinths have the most AMAZING smell. When we got out of our car, we were knocked over by the deliciousness. I wish I could have a hyacinth garden and plants inside my home. It would smell Heavenly. Here are some pictures I want to share with y'all.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Tulip Fields

Hello lovely friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Man the weekend just flew by for us... just the same as every weekend. We did a great hike on Saturday morning, about 6 and 1/2 miles through the woods and the weather was PERFECT! Then on Sunday Jon and I did a 5 1/2 mile run which was utterly exhausting! Our 1/2 marathon is getting closer and closer, only 20 more days until the big run! It was a lovely weekend, I only wish it would have lasted longer!

As I posted last time, I wanted to share our pictures from the tulip fields while we were visiting Holland. So... here they are!!

We hope you enjoyed the pictures!

And hope you have a wonderful Monday!!!
